I t...Hi Emily, thanks for checking out our project. I think oil pastel on paint looks very sophisticated!! I gave the option of Sharpie.....for some it worked really well and then for others, they fizzled and their work didn't turn out as wonderfully as it could have. I am proud of these! Glad they inspired you!! The trickiest part was getting them to tear scraps that were small enough to fit into the space of their tree without just piling it on in chunks. I am also trying it using a different approach with another class and I'll post those soon :) Both ways are really cool. Did you also talk to them about using pattern on the different sections of grass or did they come up with that on their own? This gets me thinking of all sorts of ideas. Maybe each student has an old book that they can paint up if they finish early and then they have an awesome stock of paper to use for projects such as these!
