3rd grade Letters & Numbers Collograph
I am absolutely thrilled with my 3rd graders and their awesome collograph prints based on American Artist, Jasper Johns. I adapted this lesson for my own use from our county lesson plan collection. I love the graphic quality my students achieved simply by using soft craft foam glued to mat board. They remind me of vintage posters!
It wasn't always easy for the kids to understand that words had to be written from left to write and letters & numbers needed to be turned upside down in order to print correctly. Once the prints were made though, it all made sense! And the results are stunning....
