About Mrs. Kim

I am originally from Richmond, Indiana (a true Hoosier girl at heart). Both of my parents are teachers as well as my sister and many of my extended family. I am the eldest of three children and grew up loving and appreciating art (thanks in large part to my father who is an abstract wood sculptor). I graduated from Purdue University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications Design and a Minor in Dance. In 2004, I received my post-baccalaureate degree in Art Education. The 2016-2017 school year marks my eleventh year teaching Art. Originally, my career as a teacher began as a high school Dance teacher in Indiana. I spent 10 years teaching Art in Fulton County, GA and my newest adventure will be teaching Art in Virginia.

Below is the classroom where it all started for me 10 years ago - it was also the catalyst for the name of my prior blog (which you might know), Art in the Big Green Room. It will always hold a special place in my art teaching heart!
