Last year, I really enjoyed the Wolf Kahn inspired lesson I taught to my 2nd graders, so I decided to give it another whirl this year since it really does teach a lot of great concepts that correlate with my curriculum. A few of my classes approached it in the same manner as last year's, however, I tend to get very antsy and like to change things, so this year I also experimented by having some groups use a crayon resist technique. I am torn as to which style I like more......regardless, I am happy that I added the texture rubbing plates into the mix with both approaches.
Wow! You are really on a roll with some fantastic art lessons...Modigliani portraits, abstract leaf art, Jasper Johns pieces and now these wonderful Wolf Kahn inspired landscapes. I particularly like the the depth of field the children used with the trees. Kudos to you!
