Mixed-Media Cityscapes by Kindergarten

Who doesn't enjoy a cityscape project?! Every year, I try to do one pretty early on with my Kindergarten classes. This year, I decided to throw in a mixed-media twist. We focused on so many things......we learned about the horizon line and how placement in our work creates depth and that outlining can sharpen up our subject matter and make things "pop." Students were able to show the time of day in their piece and had an option of whether or not to include telephone poles (as you can see, many wanted to add that detail!) Enjoy!

  1. I do love a good cityscape project. And these are Wonderful! They remind me of Ezra Jack Keats work. Great job by your kindergarten artists!

    1. Thank you, Mary! I love that this reminds you of Ezra Jack Keats because I very much admire his work! Next year I will tie him in. It's funny how another person's view really puts it all into perspective!

  2. I agree about EJK! That little round sun/moon is the perfect little contrasting shape, isn't it?
